The vibrant duo of actress-teacher Maya Blank and musician Uri Sharlin will offer up an interactive Musical Theater experience in a performance of “The Hatseller and the Monkeys”! (In ENGLISH!) In this adaptation of the classic Caps for Sale, a man sets off to sell his hats, only to have them stolen by a tree full of mischievous monkeys! Children will engage with the characters through props and costumes, magical sounds from the forest, and original rhythmic music. Family Theater and Love for Mother's Day at the Brooklyn Children's Museum! Children enter the world of the story through song, movement and theatrical explorations. For more event information please click here Stone Tzimmes: A Story for Shabbat at the Brooklyn Public Library Boro Park Branch, April 30 at 2pm4/30/2017 In our very special and interactive presentation of Stone Soup for Shabbat, we invite children to tell how a beggar tricks a starving town into giving him some food and teaches them a lesson in cooperation amid scarcity. The children act out the colorful characters with handmade costumes, and klezmer-style dance and music in a performance that is festive, educational and entertaining. We welcome the children to enjoy an imaginary feast as a community with props of delicious Jewish foods, and pots and ladles as the musical instruments. A New Purim Show at the 14th Street Y, March 11 at 3pm3/11/2017 Using playful masks and live music A Purim Tale relates the dramatic Purim story of a mighty king, a jealous scoundrel, and a wise uncle. In this Americana-style folk tale, we follow the wonderful adventures of young Dorothy Gale and her dog, Toto, as their Kansas house is swept away by a cyclone and they find themselves in a strange land called Oz. Children will act out the story with handmade costumes and live dance and songs!
